Shanghaimaritime university information engineering college of electronic engineering of electronic information engineering specialty’s predecessor is merchant college navigation system (ship) communication navigation professional. The training characteristics of Electronic information engineering professional is based on the needs of national and Shanghai port, shipping electronic construction, combined with Shanghai maritime university ports, shipping characteristics, the electronic information technology, modern communication technology and information engineering. It is in order to establish various information engineering talents and cultivate advanced talents who can understand knowledge about port and have a good grasp of the latest electronic information technology and who can server for the country andShanghai’s economic development and the construction of international shipping center. The professional main courses include circuit theory courses, computer technology series courses, information theory and coding, signal and system, digital signal processing, electromagnetic field theory, the principle of automatic control, radar principle, radio navigation principle, etc. We have oneShanghaiexcellent course, threeShanghaikey course projects, two school-level exquisite courses and more than 10 items school-level key courses (group).
The professional has a strong teaching and research team with reasonable knowledge structure and professional quality. They are from key university, such as Zhejiang university, Shanghai Jiaotong university, Huazhong university of science and technology, Nanjing university, southeast university, university of electronic science and technology, etc., We have 35 existing full-time teachers, 8 laboratory teachers including five professors, 8 associate professors and senior engineers, and the teachers who have senior professional title account for 30% of the total number. There are four teachers with postdoctoral experience, 18 teachers with doctor’s degree, and more than 90% have graduate student degree, and some teachers are on-the-job Ph.D. Degree. Senior professional titled teachers shall undertake the task of teaching of undergraduate course of up to 100%.There are one tutor of professional teachers and 12 master tutor, and they are included in the school discipline leaders to develop 3 target teachers and 9 backbones of teachers.
The professional students after graduation will become senior engineers and technical personnel, who have a good command of modern communication systems, communication networks and information collection, transmission, processing and electronic system machine equipment, extension part of scientific research, design, application. The companies of employment are well-known enterprises at home and abroad, such asShanghaibell, zte communications, Huawei and so on. They also includeChinatelecom, overseas radio with shipping characteristics of state-owned enterprise. Every year the employment rate is more than 98%. Nearly 15% of students go on further study in well-know n universities such as Shanghai Jiaotong university, Fudan university, Tongji university, Beijing university of posts and the school of the Chinese academy of sciences. Many more students start their own businesses and establish their own companies and factories with their partners.
The professional belongs to electronic engineering department with two master degree program which are signal and information processing, communication and information system, one engineering master degree program which is electronic and communication engineering. At the same time, we cooperate with training doctoral students in theShanghaimaritime university power electronics and power transmission doctoral program. The number of the school doctor graduate students is nearly 80 people. There are application of electronic research institute, communication and control engineering technology research institute, underwater robot diagnosis and control, communication and information processing research laboratory. We newly established four major groups such as “intelligent information processing and underwater robot reliability technology”, “computer measurement and control and wireless location technology”, “optical fiber sensor and image processing technology” and “Marine shipping and target recognition technology.”
Nearly three years, we hosted 863 country high technology research and 2-item development projects, participated in 863 country’s high technology research and one development program .We hosted one national natural science foundation project, one Shanghai natural science fund project, hosted nearly 10 Shanghai municipal education commission innovation plans and common projects, hosted 16 general armaments department defense projects, aerospace science and technology measurement and control special, the Shanghai expo it special subjects, and undertake nearly 15-item large scale horizontal research project. In 2007 our annual research contract budget is close to 4 million, and the funds are nearly 2.5 million and the main subject is the national longitudinal subject. Nearly three years, electronic engineering department published nearly 25 articles of SCI research papers in the “International Journal of Control “, “IEEE Trans.
