College of Information Engineering consists of departments of Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Basic Education of Information, Research Center, Research Institute of Shipping Information Engineering and Research Institute of Shipping information Technology. Now the college enrolls undergraduates in 6 specialties of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science & Technology, Management & System of Information, Network Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering and Communication Engineering. The College has one secondary discipline doctoral program in Management & System of Information, 3 primary graduate programs in Computer Science & Technology, Software Engineering, and Information & Communication Engineering. In addition, it offers six academic graduate programs in Computer Application Technology, Software & Theory of Computer, Computer System Architecture, Communications & Information Systems, Signal & information processing and Information Management & Information Systems, and six professional graduate programs in computer technology, electronic & communication engineering and software engineering.
The research fields are: application of network distributed computing in shipping companies, computer information management systems, pattern recognition, attribute theory methods, database, data mining and knowledge discovery, multimedia technology, communication theory & technology, information theory & technology, electronic traffic & communication system, etc.
There are 143 faculty, including 110 full-time teachers, 90 of whom have doctoral degrees, 16 full professors, and 43 associate professors. There are about 1800 undergraduates and 800 postgraduates.
