Brief Introduction
As the core discipline of information technology, Signal and Information Processing is one of the fastest growing subjects. It has already been combined closely with the subjects such as communication, electronic, computer, and control. In addition, it has also been applied more and more widely both in military fields and civilian fields, such as transportation, port and ocean, biology, aerospace, information confrontation. At present, there are eight professors and ten associate professors in this subject, including three tutors of PhD student, one excellent subject leader of the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, two Oriental Scholars of the Shanghai Education Committee, one Venus Scholar of the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, and one Dawn Light Scholar of the Shanghai Education Committee.
Professor Zhu Daqi is the leader in this subject, and he is also the tutor of PhD student. At present, he is the director of Electronic Engineering Department, the chairman of the Professor Committee in College of Information Engineering, Shanghai Maritime University, the director of key subject in Signal and Information Processing, the director of Lab of Underwater Robot and Intelligence System, the part-time professor in the key laboratory of department of transportation on shipping technology and control engineering, the member of security professional committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, the editor member of core journal in <Ship and Ocean Engineering>,<Robot Technology and Application>, the communicational specialist in terms of reviewing National Natural Science Foundation and National 863 Project. Professor Zhu engages in intelligence information processing and the research of key technology of underwater technology in a long time. In recent five years, he chaired a National 863 Project, two surface projects of National Natural Science Foundation, four projects of Innovation Action Project and General Project of the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, three projects of the education department and transportation department, three projects of Shanghai Education Committee Innovation Project, three projects of Shanghai Intelligence Subject Leader and Morning Light Scholar Project, three business projects about underwater searching and detection, with an average annual scientific research funds above 1 million. As the first author or communication author, he has published more than 90 papers in the key journal at home and abroad, such as <International Journal of Control>, <Automation Journal>, and <Control Theory and Application>, including 24 SCI-indexed papers and 49 EI-indexed papers. His papers are also indexed by other people in the same field 1438 times (2011.2), and 46 times by the SCI journal. What’s more, Professor Zhu published five textbooks, and has two invention patents, two utility patents and two software copyrights.
Associate Professor Bowen An is the academic leader. He got his master’s degree in National GPS Engineering Technology Center of Wuhan University, and his doctor’ degree in Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of The Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor An engages in image information processing technology research for a long time, and has published more than 20 papers. He has been authorized three patents. At present, he chairs one National 863 Project, one surface project of National Natural Science Foundation, one Shanghai Natural Science Foundation Project, one Education Committee Innovation Project, one Dawn Light Scholar Project of Shanghai Education Committee, one Field Leader Training Project.
In addition, Professor Wang Xiaofeng, Professor Zeng Weiming of this subject, are all engaging themselves in the field of computer application and signal processing for a long time, and they are all doctoral tutor in Shanghai Maritime University.
This discipline grows rapidly in the last five years, and we have introduced a group of young doctor and professor, which will provides new power to the development for this subject. At present, we have chaired two National 863 Projects, seven National Natural Science Foundations, more than 30 projects such as Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, Education Committee Innovation Project and Climbing Project. We also participated in three National Support Projects. What’s more, we have a long-term deeply research in the fields like intelligent fault diagnosis and signal processing, image recognition and information processing, multi-sensor information fusion technology, reliable control and path planning of underwater robot, medical signal processing and computer measurement and control system development.

We have the right to authorize a master’s degree, and our goals to train a master are as follows:
